Keir Starmer Calls For Boris Johnson To Resign

During a raucous chief Minister’s Questions, UK Labour leader Keir Starmer called for Boris Johnson to resign. Mr Johnson got repeated jeers from MPs.

He told the Commons that he understands people’s “rage” when No 10 workers do not obey the rules they set. He stated that he “believed implicitly”  that the BYOB party on May 20, 2020 was a work function.

He did agree, though, that he should have recognized it was inappropriate and sent those gathered back inside. He said that No 10’s garden was regarded as an extension of the office.

When Mr Johnson indicated he couldn’t foresee the conclusion of the current inquiry into the parties, he was booed and heckled.

Keir Starmer slammed the apology as “pretty worthless” and demanded that he step down. Former UK health minister Matt Hancock and former press secretary Allegra Stratton both resigned after their rule-breaking was exposed, according to him. Johnson was then asked to resign by Keir Starmer, who questioned why he believes the rules do not apply to him.

“Everyone can see what happened,” Sir Keir said.

“The chief Minister pretended he had been assured there had been no parties. How this fits with his defence now I don’t know.”

As the Speaker tries to call for order, the backbenchers shout “selfish” and “embarrassing.” Johnson had broken the ministerial code, according to UK Labour leader Ed Miliband. He stated: “The only question is: will the British public kick him out, will his party kick him out, or will he do the decent thing and resign?”

As Boris Johnson slammed the Labour leader, the House erupted in laughter, and Keir Starmer covered his confront with his hand.
